CHALLENGE

Scion, Toyota’s youth-focused automotive brand, partnered with ATTIK as its agency of record to deliver bold, high-impact web design supporting new vehicle launches on Scion.com.


THE SCOPE INCLUDED:

• Creating campaign visuals that aligned with Scion’s edgy, youth-focused brand identity.

• Designing custom page layouts for new vehicle launches and special editions.

• Working within budget and asset limitations, often compositing cars into sourced stock photography rather than original on-location shoots.

(Note: The mobile version of Scion.com was handled by a separate agency with an entirely different design system.)

PROCESS

  • 1. iM & iA LANDING PAGES

    • Sourced stock photography to match the angle and perspective of provided vehicle imagery.

    • Retouched and adjusted backgrounds to simplify details, increase contrast, and create clean areas for type placement.

    • Balanced visual energy with legibility to meet both brand and UX requirements.

  • 2. xB RELEASE SERIES 10.0 CAMPAIGN ARTWORK

    • Collaborated with the Creative Director to develop a digital collage using multiple stock photography sources.

    • Created day and night scenes to highlight the car’s unique features:
    Day: Showcased the iridescent paint finish in bright, bold lighting.
    Night: Featured a projected Scion logo glow effect to reinforce brand presence and create drama.

    • Crafted the key art to be adaptable across homepage placements and dedicated landing pages.

  • 3. tC RELEASE SERIES 9.0 LANDING PAGE

    • Partnered with the Creative Director to design bold DIVIDE & CONQUER campaign typography inspired by the car’s half-black, half-orange paint scheme and the way light reflected across its metallic surfaces.

    • Designed an interactive landing page allowing users to explore all custom features unique to the Release Series 9.0 edition.

OUTCOME

Delivered visually striking campaign artwork that maintained Scion’s bold, youth-driven aesthetic while working within strict budget and asset constraints.

• Successfully adapted stock imagery into high-impact, cohesive campaign visuals that felt consistent with fully produced photography.

• Produced multiple campaign pages and key art assets that elevated Scion.com’s desktop presence and supported high-profile product launches.

LANDING PAGES

Both cars were not shot in real environments due to budget constraints, so I sourced stock photos that matched the angle of the car images as closely as possible to create campaign imagery for the landing pages.

I retouched the backgrounds to simplify details and increase contrast which provided areas for the type to be as legible as possible.

SCION xB RELEASE SERIES 10.0
CAMPAIGN ARTWORK

The xB Release Series 10.0 was not shot in a real environment, so the Creative Director and I created a digital collage using stock photography for the key artwork.

Day and night scenes were developed to showcase the features of the limited edition car. Iridescent paint during the day and the projected glow of a Scion logo at night.
